WISMILAK is an Indonesian cigarette company established in 1962 in Surabaya based on Deed No. 22 dated December 14, 1994 and has been approved by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Indonesia based on Decree No. C2-18.481 HT. 01.01.Th.94 dated December 19, 1994.
The history of the establishment began in 1962 with the establishment of PT Gelora Djaja, as a manufacturer of hand-rolled cigarettes in Petemon, Surabaya by the Founders of Wismilak; Lie Koen Lie, Tjio Ing Hien, Tjioe Ing Hwa, and Oei Bian Hok.
The initial factory of PT Gelora Djaja was located in a house on Jl. Petemon Barat, Surabaya with an initial number of 10 employees. The dining room of Lie Koen Lie's residence, located on Jl. Ngaglik, Surabaya, also functions as a laboratory to find a unique kretek formula. The first product of PT Gelora Djaja was the GALAN brand of kretek, followed by the birth of the Wismilak Kretek Special brand in 1963.
As its business grew, in 1983 Wismilak established PT Gawih Jaya in the product distribution line, then in 1988, Wismilak marked the expansion of its product segment by producing machine- rolled cigarettes and launching the Wismilak Diplomat product in 1989.
In 1994, Wismilak established PT Wismilak Inti Makmur as the parent company, followed in 1998 by Wismilak starting to occupy a new building on Jl. Dr. Soetomo 27, Surabaya, as its head office, which was later known as GRHA Wismilak.
Continuing the expansion of product segments, Wismilak launched a cigar product in 1999 with the brand name Wismilak Premium Cigar Robusto, followed in 2006, PT Wismilak Inti Makmur began producing cigarette filters in 2006 for commercial use.
The company entered a new phase in its business development by conducting an initial public offering on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2012. And until now,
PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk continues to grow, becoming the parent company of PT Gelora Djaja (Manufacturer) and PT Gawih Jaya (distributor) which has 4 Production Facilities, 4 Regional Logistics Centers, 22 Distribution Areas, 2 Stock Points and 26 Agents spread across all major islands in Indonesia.
